What to pack?

If you have decided to spend your holiday in Iceland, this is what you will have to take with you:
- passport (make sure it is valid for at least 6 months after your trip).
- enough film, batteries, memory cards etc. for your camera

For hotel tours in Reykjavik or around Iceland


- warm, wind-proof and water-proof clothes
- lighter clothes for warm days
- gloves, hat, scarf
- sturdy footwear, if possible trekking shoes
- sunglasses and binoculars
- swimwear
- pocket knife (not to be packed in your hand-luggage)
- personal travel pharmacy

For hotel trekking tours

- see hotel tours, but also:
- sturdy, well-worn trekking shoes
- trainers or lighter shoes
- rain clothes, preferably for heavy rain (e.g. Goretex or Sympatex trousers or long jackets)
- towels

For sleeping bag or camping tours

- as under “hotel trekking tours”, but also:
- warm underwear
- tracksuit
- mosquito spray, scissors, flashlight
- day pack
- clothes pegs and all-purpose line
- sleeping bag (if not rented)
