Good to know:

On the way we will pass Hengill volcano, the greenhouse village Hveragerdi, Eyjafjallajökull volcano and the cultivated Saga district in the South. As we approach the volcanoes located some 120 km east of Reykjavík the activity begins. The glacier – covered Eyjafjallajökull volcano that erupted in April 2010 is rising more than 1600 meters over the lowland. We will be driving at the roots of the southern slopes of Eyjafjallajökull and experience the Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls falling some 60 m off the former sea cliffs, the Solheimajökull outlet glacier flowing from the Myrdalsjökull icecap, the rivers flowing down the black basalt Skogasandur beach to the Atlantic ocean.
