Arrival in Keflavik airport. Transfer from Keflavik airport to your Reykjavik hotel .
 

Geysir – Gullfoss – Skogar – Dyrholaey - Vik

In the morning, there will be a sightseeing tour of Reykjavik. Next is the classic "Golden Circle". The geothermal Geysir fields with Strokkur (the churn) that spouts up water (30 metres) every few minutes. Iceland's most famous waterfall, the magnificent Gullfoss (Golden falls). We then visit the UNESCO World Heritage site Þingvellir Park. A location of historical significance and geological wonder. Continuing along the South Coast you'll see the famous waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss. After this, there are 2 more highlights waiting, Dyrhólaey nature reserve and the village of Vik. Overnight in the Vik area.

 

Vik - Skaftafell National Park - Jökulsarlon Glacial Lagoon - Höfn

After breakfast we head across the serene Eldhraun lava field. Eldhraun was created in one of the greatest volcano eruptions in recorded history. We'll make a stop in the charming town of Kirkjubæjarklaustur. Continuing over Skeiðarársandur sands to Skaftafell National Park, we come to the breath-taking Jökulsarlon Glacial Lagoon. Spend the rest of the day exploring the area and enjoying the fantastic view of Europe's largest glacier. Overnight in the Höfn area.

Höfn - East Fjords - Egilsstadir

From the town of Höfn we drive through Almannaskarð pass, with it's dramatic coastline. The scenic East Fjords are one of the oldest areas in Iceland. Visit Petra's museum of local stones and minerals, this is a unique and quirky collection built by a by a local enthusiast and collector Petra Sveinsdóttir. Overnight in the Egilsstadir area.

Lake Myvatn Area

Driving the mountain road over desert plateau Möðrudalsöræfi heath you eventually come to the Lake Mývatn area. Námaskarð is an area like nothing else, martian landscapes, boiling sulfuric mud pools and colours. Explore the bizarre lava formations at Dimmuborgir and the pseudo craters at Skutustadir and Laxa river. Mývatn is a paradise for birdwatchers, with more species of ducks than any other place on Earth. Overnight in the Myvatn area.

Lake Myvatn Area - Akureyri

Todays first stop is at Goðafoss "Waterfall of the Gods" one of Iceland's most spectacular waterfalls. You will also visit Laufás turf farm, last inhabited in 1936. After this we come to Akureyri, the capital of North Iceland. The lively and energetic Akureyri is home to some of Iceland's most beautiful historical timber buildings. Overnight in the Akureyri area.

Skagafjord - Borgarnes

Skagafjörður is a deep bay in northern Iceland. The way there is lead by impressive mountains and narrow passes. We will see a Horse Show and learn about the special traits of the Icelandic Horse and the fifth gait - tölt. We continue to the town of Blönduós. The great glacial river Blanda flows through the town. Blanda is the longest and the most powerful Salmon river in Iceland. Last stop of this eventful day is in the charming town of Borgarnes in the middle of West Iceland. Overnight in Borgarnes area.

Borgarfjord - Thingvellir - Reykjavik

Reykjavik

Today you will see Deildartunguhver, thermal spring in Reykholtsdalur. This is the most powerful hot spring in the world. We will continue to Hraunfossar. They are a series of waterfalls streaming through a lava field, an unusual natural phenomena. The journey continues through Kaldidalur mountain pass to Lake Þingvallavatn. Þingvellir National Park has unique geology and is the site of the world’s first parliament, established in 930. Overnight in Reykjavik.

Depending on flight times you can spend the morning in Reykjavik or visit the Blue Lagoon on your way to the airport.
