Upon arrival at Keflavik Airport, a private driver will meet you for a comfortable transfer to your hotel in Reykjavik. Join a small-group tour to explore the Golden Circle. Begin with Thingvellir National Park, a site of both historical and geological significance. This is where Iceland’s parliament was founded in 930 AD, and where chieftains gathered annually for centuries to discuss the country’s laws. Þingvellir is also the meeting point of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, allowing visitors to quite literally walk between continents. An easy hike leads to the beautiful Öxarárfoss waterfall, where the river Öxará was diverted in the 10th century to provide water for the parliamentary assembly.

The journey continues to Efstidalur dairy farm, a family-run farm offering stunning views of Mount Hekla, the chance to see Icelandic cows, horses, and dogs, and the opportunity to taste their organic, homemade ice cream. Next, visit the Geysir geothermal area, where Strokkur erupts approximately every five minutes, followed by the powerful Gullfoss waterfall, one of Iceland’s most iconic natural attractions. A lunch stop is made at Friðheimar greenhouse (lunch not included), before continuing the exploration. The day concludes at Kerið crater lake, a 3,000-year-old volcanic caldera filled with vividly coloured waters and striking contrasts.
