This day tour will take you to the mystical hot springs in the geyser area, Gullfoss and Thingvellir. The tour's first stop is the national park Thingvellir. This is the place where the world's first national parliament was founded. It was established in 930 AD and sessions were held in the area until 1798. This beautiful place is situated on the American and European continental ridge which makes this a very special place. The second stop for the day is the spectacular Gullfoss. A thundering waterfall that appears out of nowhere. It is an impressive two-step waterfall, and due to its natural surroundings, you can get up close to it, if you dare to. Be cautious when walking around, the ground may be slippery. The third stop is the truly impressive geyser. It is unique and powerful. The geyser blows boiling hot water 22-33 yards up in the air every 5-10 minutes. Keep your camera ready, and be mindful of the direction of the wind.
Fridheimar is a greenhouse and a restaurant, standing as the largest greenhouse in Iceland. Here the participants will learn how to grow perfect, natural tomatoes with the help of geothermal heat. Fridheimar relies solely on Icelandic water and gets help from over 600 bumblebees to pollinate the tomatoes.
