Arrival - Northern Lights

Northern lights at Skogafoss

Upon arrival you will take the airport transfer to your hotel in Reykjavik where you will stay for 3 nights. In the evening you will be picked up for a tour outside of Reykjavik. Far from the glow of the city lights, we hunt for the elusive Aurora Borealis – known as the Northern Lights (We cannot guarantee sightings even if the tour is operated. In these cases we offer our customers a second tour free of charge).

Golden Circle day tour (optional)

Strokkur in winter

Stroll through the streets of Reykjavik or head for a daytour: On the Gullfoss-Geysir tour you can walk around the world-famous Geysir geothermal area, a geothermal field where hot springs are in abundance, geysers explode and pools of mud bubble. One of the Golden Circle’s many highlights is the Gullfoss waterfall, the queen of Iceland‘s waterfalls. The tour ends with the no less spectacula Thingvellir National Park. This is the original site of the oldest existing parliament in the world. The Great Atlantic Rift is clearly visible, a rift that is slowly pulling Iceland apart along tectonic plates.

Southcoast or Whale watching (optional)

The South of Iceland is unique and that part of the country which by far the greatest numbers of foreign visitors come to. There everything that makes Iceland interesting to visit can be found all year around. Here history follows you at every footstep, both ancient and recent. There is creative art, culture and flourishing trade and endless possibilities to enjoy the outdoor life in all seasons. Above all there is the awesome and rugged nature from the mountains to the sea. You can do a South coast adventure tour with glacier walk on one of Iceland's glaciers. You can also take a whale watching tour from the Reykjavik old harbour, go swimming in one of the capital's geothermal pools and more!
