Golden Circle and Fridheimar

Geyser

This day tour will take you to the mystical hot springs in the geyser area, Gullfoss and Thingvellir. The tour's first stop is the Fridheimar greenhouse and restaurant, standing as the largest greenhouse in Iceland. The visitors will learn how to grow perfect, natural tomatoes with the help of geothermal heat. Fridheimar relies solely on Icelandic water and gets help from over 600 bumblebees to pollinate the tomatoes.

The next stop is the Thingvellir National Park. This is the place where the world's first national parliament was founded. It was established in 930 AD, and sessions were held in the area until 1798. This beautiful place is situated on the American and European continental ridge, which makes this a very special place.

The third stop for the day is the spectacular Gullfoss. A thundering waterfall that appears out of nowhere. It is an impressive two-step waterfall, and due to its natural surroundings, you can get up close to it if you dare to. Be cautious when walking around the ground may be slippery.

Lastly is the truly impressive geyser. It is unique and powerful. The geyser blows boiling water 22-33 yards up in the air every 5-10 minutes. Keep your camera ready, and be mindful of the direction of the wind.
