Day 2
HOP ON HOP OFF IN REYKJAVIK
Take a bus tour with City Sightseeing and explore Reykjavik at your leisure, with the opportunity to hop on and off at conveniently located bus stops. With the best of both worlds; a modern and forward-looking city whilst at the same time being close to its unspoiled nature, Reykjavik truly is a magical place to behold.
On the Golden Circle Gullfoss-Geysir tour, you can walk around the world-famous Geysir geothermal area, a geothermal field where hot springs are in abundance, geysers explode and pools of mud bubble. One of the Golden Circle’s many highlights is the Gullfoss waterfall, the queen of Iceland‘s waterfalls. The tour ends with the no less spectacular Thingvellir National Park. This is the original site of the oldest existing parliament in the world. The great Atlantic Rift is clearly visible, a rift that is slowly pulling Iceland apart along tectonic plates.
The Blue Lagoon is the perfect way to start a holiday on Iceland. Let go of your daily worries and feel the naturally heated blue water on your body. Swimming in the mineral rich water is a delightful experience no matter what kind of weather it is. At the Blue Lagoon you can get different kinds of massages and spa treatments in the water or you can enjoy the experience with a drink from the inpool bar.
Start your day with a three-hour whale-watching trip from Reykjavik. Witness the breathtaking spectacle of dolphins and whales harmoniously existing in their natural habitat along the southwest coast, home to a diverse array of these marine creatures. The goal is to get close to dolphins, humpback whales and killer whales. The boat is specially made with large windows and plenty of seating inside. There is plenty of space on the deck as well. The trip starts from Reykjavik's old harbour, just a few minutes from the city centre. On board the boat there is a guide that tells you about different types of whales, nearby places and Icelandic history. The tour is very interactive and educational, and you have access to the internet. Read more about the trip here.
Day 6
South Shore Adventure
Today you'll get to see why Iceland is such a unique country. The land is created by volcanos and formed by ice. It is truly a completely unique island and on this tour, you'll see magnificent waterfalls, black beaches and breathtaking glaciers. You can see the world-known volcano Eyjafallajokull on your way along the south coast.
Your free to dispose the evening to your own wishes.
Experience the fantastic nature around Reykjavik while horseback riding. The friendly Icelandic horses and their trainers will join you on this ride across the Lava fields. The tour is on smooth gravel paths with great views over the green mountains.
This tour is suited for beginners and you don't need a lot of experience to join. The Icelandic horse is calm and relaxed which makes for a joyful ride.
After an impressive and memorable trip to Iceland, it is time to leave. Depending on your flight time you can enjoy your morning in Reykjavik before heading to the airport. Shuttle transfer from your hotel in Reykjavik to Keflavik airport for your flight home!
