From the South Shore, you head to the mighty waterfall Gullfoss and the famous Hot Spring area of Geysir, probably the most remarkable tourist attractions in Iceland. Make sure you stop at the farm Fridheimar for a nice lunch before you head to Geysir. Drive up to Thingvellir, where the world’s oldest parliament was set up in around 930 AD. Thingvellir is on the World Heritage List, first published by UNESCO in 1972. The park lies in a rift valley that marks the crest of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge and the boundary between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. From Þingvellir your journey takes you to the capital Reykjavik where you stay for the next 2 nights
